Yes! We are licensed by Service NSW, so your 1-hour lesson can count as 3 hours in your logbook (up to 10 times).
It’s not mandatory, but learning with an instructor helps build safe habits, understand rules better, and pass the test faster.
- Speeding: Going too fast or slow can lead to instant failure.
- Breaking road rules: Missing stop signs, using a phone, not giving way, etc.
- Not checking mirrors/blind spots: Always be aware of your surroundings.
- Bad judgement or distractions: Don’t use your phone or rush yellow lights.
- Signalling issues: Signal on time and properly before turning or changing lanes.
- Poor parking: Reverse, kerb or angle parking must be done correctly.
- Vehicle control: Stay in your lane, steer smoothly, avoid sudden braking.
- Car not roadworthy: Make sure tyres, lights, brakes, and indicators are working before the test.
- Practice a lot: Try different roads, weather, and times of day.
- Learn local rules: Know the speed limits and give-way signs near your test centre.
- Check surroundings: Use mirrors, check blind spots, and drive smoothly.
- Know the test area: Practice around your test centre to get comfortable.
- Get expert help: Professional instructors help fix bad habits and prepare you properly.
Not really. What matters is that the car is safe, registered and roadworthy. Lights, indicators and brakes must work, tyres properly inflated, mirrors set, and L-plates displayed.
As soon as you sit in the car—before starting the engine. The driver must make sure every passenger (including children) is correctly buckled.
- Use 9-and-3 (best) or 10-and-2.
- Grip should be firm but relaxed.
- Feed the wheel smoothly; avoid crossing arms in tight turns.
- Look far ahead to plan early.
- Use lane lines to stay centred.
- Scan mirrors regularly; don’t stare at one spot.
Yes. Signal early and do a shoulder check to clear blind spots before:
- Moving off from the kerb
- Changing lanes or merging
- Turning or exiting a roundabout
Leave enough space so you can see the rear tyres touching the road of the vehicle ahead — roughly a “small car” gap.
- Scan mirrors and surroundings (pedestrians, bikes).
- Watch the traffic lights and be ready to move safely on green.
- Keep a safe gap; don’t creep into the intersection.
No. No one can promise the route or a guaranteed pass. If someone claims that, ask if they’ll refund you if you fail — usually it’s just marketing.
- Learn local roads, signs and tricky spots.
- Build car control and confidence.
- Reduce nerves through familiarity.
Don’t stress. If you can drive safely and follow the rules, your driving decides the result — not the exact route. After you’re licensed, you must drive safely everywhere, not just one area.
